چکیده

DualSPHysics is a weakly compressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) Navier-Stokes solver initially conceived to deal with coastal engineering problems, especially those related wave impact structures. Since the first release back in 2011, has shown be robust and accurate for simulating extreme events along continuous improvement efficiency thanks exploitation of hardware such as graphics processing units (GPUs) scientific computing or coupling propagating models SWASH OceanWave3D. Numerous additional functionalities have also been included package over last few years which allow simulation fluid-driven objects. The use discrete element method (DEM) allowed simulate interaction among different bodies (sliding rocks, example), provides unique tool analyse debris flows. In addition, recent other solvers like Project Chrono MoorDyn milestone development solver. allows articulated structures joints, hinges, sliders springs moored Both make one meshless model world leaders offshore energy harvesting devices. Lately, present state maturity goes beyond single phase simulations, allowing multi-phase simulations gas-liquid combination Newtonian non-Newtonian expanding further capabilities range applications These advances state-of-the-art emphasis on free-surface flow modelling.

Multiphysics Modeling and Simulation of Fluid-structure Interaction Applied to Biological Problems

In this paper, we consider the mathematical modeling and simulation of a fluid-structure interaction algorithm applied to a multiphysics application involving atherosclerotic arteries which is known to lead to health risks and mortality. More specifically, narrowing of an artery that can result from a plaque deposit causes severe reduction of the blood flow. Modeling such diseased arteries requ...

Adaptive Finite Element Methods for Multiphysics Problems Adaptive Finite Element Methods for Multiphysics Problems

In this thesis we develop and evaluate the performance of adaptive finite element methods for multiphysics problems. In particular, we propose a methodology for deriving computable error estimates when solving unidirectionally coupled multiphysics problems using segregated finite element solvers. The error estimates are of a posteriori type and are derived using the standard framework of dual w...
